A look through the list of registered users revealed some who took the time to register were not granted full access to the website.  This occurs when an email sent from the website's server was not received by the user.  Spam filters may send our email to your Spam or Trash folders.  So, check your Spam or Trash folders for a registration email.  Open the email from FOP Lodge 25 and click on the link to have full access to the FOP Lodge 25 website.  Users should trust all email coming from our domain; i.e. fop25.com, by going into your advanced options of your email configuration or perhaps left clicking on an email in your Spam/Trash folders.  This 'trust' process varies from provider to provider.  As always, your email addresses are not sold or provided to third parties.  It is our way to communicate exclusively to you!

Thanks for registering!

When was the last time you were asked if you were on FB? For those who don’t know what FB stands for, well – Facebook; a social networking website. Once again, another law enforcement officer was terminated for inappropriate content posted on his ‘private’ Facebook account. One of his ‘friends’ was offended by the post, turned him into Internal Affairs, and was subsequently terminated after the investigation. While this is extreme, some form of punishment could arise for content deemed to be improper or pictures that depict an officer as ‘unbecoming.’ Watch your posts and check your Facebook settings. Recently, (the week of December 6th2009) Facebook reset some settings and your pictures are accessible to browsing folks even though your account is set to private. You must now set your pictures to private by Settings/Privacy Settings/manage/profile information. Check your “Photo Album” and “Photos and Videos of Me” settings.  I suggest selecting “Only Friends” as a minimum. On a side note.  For those of you who intend on modeling in the future, consider that the Terms of Service Agreement, which you agreed to as a condition for starting a Facebook account, gives Facebook rights to all of the photos you post.

Newsflash

The New FOP Lodge 25

The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 25 is located at 5505 S. Hansel Avenue on the shores of Lake Conway in south Orlando.  In late 2008, the old Lodge was scheduled for demolition in preparation for constructing a new steel frame structure to serve as the meeting hall for FOP Lodge 25.  The demolition and other pre-construction activities were complete in the Spring of 2009.  We have been ready to go into the full-blown construction phase for some time now; however, the economy has been in a tail spin and lenders are even more cautious on their lending - especially to non-profits and not-for-profit corporations.

Fortunately, I am happy to report the FOP Lodge 25 has made contact with two nationally recognized financial institutions and both are reviewing the financials of Lodge 25.  We are hopeful the competative nature of lending will provide the Lodge with the best terms on a loan.  I am optimistic on a favorable outcome in the coming weeks.  More to come on this in the near future.

In the meantime, please take a look at the proposed floor plan and artist rendering of the new FOP Lodge 25.  You may also make a specific donation towards the Building Fund.
